After 5 years City Hall Doors are accessible!

Since opening in 2020, the new city hall building has lacked push-button access at its inner entrance doors, making it difficult for anyone with a disability or encumbrance to enter. Thanks to the efforts of the Disability Commission and the city’s Facilities Director, Eric Rubin, the doors are now finally accessible! See our video on Reddit here

About a week later, Malden Safe Street’s President Allie Durak was interviewed as well as her son 😂 by WBZ News Radio on the upgrades to Malden City Hall’s doors. Chair for the Malden Disability Commission Amanda Belles and Malden’s Public Facilities Director Eric Rubin were also interviewed on how they worked together to have a push-button installed to the city hall doors.
